Winter Orimat Road Committee

Orimat Road Association Inc.
2020/2021 Winter Season Invoice

The Winter Committee has been hard at work to provide winter access for property owners and hopefully attract more participation from Orimat and Delta members. The Board is pleased to provide the following outline of rules and fees associated with this coming year winter use.

Non Winter Members:
Non Winter Members are not permitted access to or parking on our “plowed” road system with any wheeled vehicle (car, truck, ATV, UTV etc.). Non-Winter Members are permitted to walk, cross country ski, snowshoe or snowmobile on our plowed road system, at anytime, and will not incur any fees / costs. Any Member wishing to visit their cottage for a day is required to become a Winter Member. That Member would then observe the Winter Member rules and procedures and pay the appropriate Daily Fee to Orimat as indicated below. Any Member who is interested in plowing beyond the currently plowed zones should contact their Tributary Representative.

If Members elect to access our plowed road system and have not paid the appropriate fee then that fee will be added to their spring invoice billing. This amount will be collected in the manner outlined in the constitutions by the respective treasurer of the association of the member.

Winter rules are in effect from the day of the first plow (an announcement will be sent out to indicate this has occurred) to the 15th of April 2021. Please note the following: THE APRIL 15TH DATE DOES NOT MEAN THE ROAD IS ACCESSABLE AND SAFE. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL ISSUE AN EMAIL AND POST TO THE WEBSITE WHEN THE ROAD IS CONSIDERED OPEN. THIS INCLUDES THE ABILITY TO ACCESS YOUR COTTAGE SAFELY AND THE ROAD SURFACE CAN WITHSTAND THE TRAFFIC. It is the cottager’s responsibility to ensure they can make this trip safely. If you are unsure of the status contact your Tributary Representatives.

Winter Members:
Our Winter Committee has selected Robinson Haulage to plow the road system for this upcoming winter season. They are our exclusive contractor for plowing which means no other contractors or members are permitted to plow our roads.

Driveways are the responsibility of the cottage /homeowner and you may choose whomever you wish to plow your own personal driveways/laneways.

Winter Members have two types of pricing schedules to consider. Seasonal or daily pricing.

Seasonal Pricing (per cottage):

Zone number and location Price
Zone 1 – Orimat Stockpile Parking NOTE: This pricing is only available for property owners that are outside plowed areas i.e. road is not plowed to your driveway or to private laneway) $300
Zone 2 – Deep Bay Boulevard – The extension of Penton Pkwy past Delta Road – Greenwood Lane – Muckle Valley Drive – Delta Road from Penton Pkwy to the Delta/Riverview intersection – Randall Reach $450
Zone 3 – Delta/Riverview intersection to the end of Delta Road $750
Zone 4 – Orimat Road from Randall Reach to Current plowing limits $800
Zone 5 – Delta Road parking lot at the top of Baldy Hill – NOTE: This pricing is only available for property owners that are outside plowed areas i.e. road is not plowed to your driveway or to private laneway) $350

Zone 8 (new this season) RIVERVIEW Boulevard (from Delta/Riverview intersection to end of Riverview) $700
Daily Pricing (applicable to all zones) *Daily pricing is based on a maximum of 3 visits per season. If more than 3 visits then the zone fee for that area will be charged. $100

Future Zones : Thanks to all who replied to the survey. We will be getting back to the cottage locations that replied and are still on unplowed areas. We will endeavor to provide pricing based on the number of positive replies and plowing costs. The more members we have the cheaper it gets per member to plow the common roads that all use to get to their cottage/home.

There is no parking in the designated passing areas. There is no parking in the snoszplow turnaround areas. If you require parking please contact your tributary representative. If your vehicle is blocking the road it can be removed.

Use the road at your own risk. All wheel drive vehicles with snow tires are the minimum required. Tire chains and sand are highly recommended.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFE ACCESS TO AND FROM YOUR COTTAGE/PARKING AREA.

AT TIMES DURING THE WINTER SEASON THE ROAD MAY NOT BE SAFE TO USE. WINTER PLOWING DOES NOT GUARANTEE IMMEDIATE ACCESS. AT TIMES YOU MAY HAVE TO DELAY YOUR ARRIVAL, OR EXIT, DUE TO CHANGING ROAD AND WEATHER CONDITIONS.

As always, winter members are responsible for their guests and contractors. We do not guarantee accessibility for construction traffic, and members are responsible for any damage caused by their contractors. No heavy loads are allowed during the winter season.

Garbage:

Driveway garbage collection ends approximately the first week of November and restarts late spring after half load season is finished. During the winter, garbage and recycling (biweekly pickup) is collected from the designated garbage and recycle bins at the gate on Tuesday mornings. Please note there is no compost pickup during the winter. To prevent the mess caused by wildlife it is important to use these bins appropriately. Keep in mind it is volunteers that clean up the mess.

NOTE: DO NOT DROP GARBAGE OFF WEEKLY. PLEASE FOLLOW THE COLLECTION SCHEDULE.
